We are currently partnered with one of the world's premier medical manufacturing corporations. They have been at the forefront of innovation for many decades now and show no signs of slowing down.
We are currently looking to add an experienced automation/controls engineer to join the engineering department on a full time, permanent basis. You will be supporting the production/maintenance team with controls/automation based solutions, with the view of improving efficiency, reliability and production output.
Responsibilities to include:
Control and develop equipment software and supporting documentation.
Plan, design and specify improvements to existing processes to improve productivity and efficiency and minimise risk from component obsolescence.
Innovate, design and specify new processes to meet manufacturing requirements.
Advise on where control system upgrades would enhance equipment performance.
Ensure the manufacturing teams are issued with all the relevant software, documentation, procedures, drawings and parts lists in the technical construction file.
Maintain the site control system specifications and standards for equipment.
Equipment/software to include: PLC (programmable logic controllers, Servo drives and other motion control systems.
To be successful in this position, you should meet the following requirements:
5+ years in a controls or automation led position
Competent experience fault finding, modifying and programming of PLC's
Previous experience in a production manufacturing environment i.e food man, pharmaceutical or any form of FMCG (beneficial)
Ability to generate or modify electrical diagrams
Qualified to level 3 or above in a relevant engineering discipline
Previous titles may have included: Control system engineer, automation engineer, controls engineer, senior electrical engineer, automation specialist, plc programmer or alike.
