Great opportunity to work as a Control Room Operator for G4S, a leading global security and outsourcing group, specialising in outsourcing of business processes in sectors where security and safety risks are considered a strategic threat.
G4S is recruiting for a Control Room Operator to work in Chichester.
The rate of pay is £11.46 per hour.
This is a full-time role, contracted at 42 hours per week, working a 4 days on, 4 days off shift pattern.

Your Time at Work

As a Control room Operator, your main responsibilities will include:
- To operate and coordinate all aspects of Control Room Operation with Protective Services Team Leader, including emergency response i.e. Fire and emergency alarm system
- Access control to ensure no unauthorized persons and/or vehicles are allowed onto RRMC premises
- Ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure
- People/Baggage/Vehicle searches; to ensure no unauthorised assets (including vehicles) leave RRMC premises
- To operate, monitor, evaluate and maintain CCTV systems
- Manage the intercoms from the entrances to the car parks and offer information to support onsite parking
- Manage the radio networks communicating with Security
- Maintain the key issue records and deal with the key issues
- To warmly receive visitors, identify the purpose of their visit and liaise with the appropriate personnel as necessary, ensuring they are familiar with site rules, policies and procedures.
- Other duties as required by security management
Our Perfect Worker

Our perfect worker will need to be aged 18 or over, a confident communicator who is a team player with the drive to provide a friendly and professional service at all times. A good IT knowledge is also key. Our ideal candidate will also:
- Deliver excellent customer service
- Have good IT Skills
- Have a high level of administration competency
- Demonstrate the ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure
- Have an ability to deliver succinct and clear verbal and written reports where necessary
- Maintain a high standard of personal presentation
- Demonstrate reliability including the ability to deliver high standards of both punctuality and attendance in order to ensure team effectiveness and availability
- Be able to demonstrate an ability to work as part of a team.
- Be able to deal calmly and confidently with all demands from the public.
- Understand the principles of equality and diversity in relation to visitors' needs.
- Have an interest in and commitment to the work of G4S for its clients
It would be a benefit to have some security experience and your SIA licence, however it's not essential, as we provide full SIA (Security Industry Authority) licence training.
