The Control Room Leader will be responsible for overseeing the safe manufacture of production via the Control Room integrated SCADA system, PLC control and daily production planning to Quality, Cost and Delivery targets. The responsibilities of the role are (but not limited to):
Responsible for the operation of SCADA Control room.
Responsible for shift production planning and providing guidance to Team Leader to execute shift activities.
Responsible for compliance with all company Health and Safety procedures thus ensuring the safe operation of the facility and safety procedures are adhered to allow for cleaning and maintenance activities to be planned through the Control Room automation.
Execute the production plan in line with Quality, Cost and Timescale requirements.
Continuously improve production operations through evaluation of Control Room alarms and issues, and develop through employee involvement, changes to processes accordingly.
Instruct Maintenance Engineers to repair urgent defects and damage from incidents or upset conditions
Evaluate execution of daily/weekly/monthly plans for Cleaning and Maintenance aligned to the Control Room operation and drive remedies to any problems encountered.
Develop an understanding of the building management system and link to the SCADA Control requirements. (This will involve wearing full protective clothing and access to all areas of the facility).
Link the automated operations with Production Leaders in order to communicate key actions required.
Use knowledge of SCADA system to manage non-conforming situations as appropriate.
Ensure that all areas of production comply with the Company Health and Safety policies and procedures and display a positive safety culture.
Carrying out other administrative duties as required to help the safe running and operation of the automated plant
Control Room Leader specification:
Right to live and work in the UK, with ability to obtain suitable level security clearance
Experience of operating a manufacturing or automation operation (including pneumatics and hydraulics)
BTEC/ NVQ Level 4 or Apprenticeship equivalent in an engineering discipline, desirable
Experience of a manufacturing or automation operation (including pneumatics and hydraulics) would be desirable
Hands on experience of operating SCADA or similar system
Ability to work calmly under pressure
Experience of leading and developing people. Thi role is typically worked over 40 hours per week; Sunday – Thursday, 23:00 – 07:15 for 2 weeks and Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 15:15 the alternative 2 weeks however flexibility is required to support the needs of the business.
