Contracts Manager - Plumbing and Heating

Alecto Recruitment Ltd are looking for an experienced and motivated Contracts Manager to join an established client of ours within the plumbing, heating and M&E industry and on a full-time permanent basis.

Working office based as a Contracts / General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of projects, from estimating/tendering and negotiation to execution and completion. You will work closely with our clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure that our projects meet the highest standards of quality, safety and customer satisfaction.

Job Summary:

• Prepare and submit competitive tenders and proposals for residential new build, design & build and development contracts in the plumbing and heating sector
• Negotiate contracts with clients, suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring that all terms and conditions are clear and favourable
• Manage the contract schedule, budget and scope, ensuring that any changes or variations are properly documented and approved
• Monitor and report on the progress and performance of the projects, identifying and resolving any issues or risks
• Liaise and communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, subcontractors, site managers, engineers and operatives
• Provide leadership, guidance and support to the contract team, ensuring that they have the necessary skills, resources and training

Key Skills Required:

• Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or Operations Manager or similar role in the plumbing, heating or gas industry.
• Preferably with new build, domestic housing and development projects experience
• Excellent knowledge of contract law, procurement processes and industry best practices
• Strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure
• Relevant qualification in plumbing, construction, engineering, business or related field
• Full UK driving licence
