Position: Contracts Manager – Soft LandscapingJob Type: Full-timeNumber of Vacancies: 1Salary & Benefits: £40-£45k pa dependent on experience plus bonus scheme and company vehicleGeographical Area: Hermitage, NewburyJob Description:Kennet Landscapes are a busy and thriving family run commercial landscaping company based in Hermitage, Newbury. They are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to work as part of a well-established team in overseeing and managing our soft landscaping contracts.You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of 20 active sites at any given time, alongside other contracts managers. You will also be the main point of contact for the client and all key stakeholders.You will also be responsible for up to 25 employees, ensuring that they are working safely and efficiently. Sites will vary from smaller bespoke developments, up to major developments that consist of several hundred plots together with SANG and POS areas.The right candidate will show excellent communication, relationship management and influencing skills. Demonstrate clear commitment to the highest ethical standards, and Continental behaviours and values. Be able to constructively challenge, creating mutually beneficial outcomes for all stakeholders.Duties will include:Line management responsibility for a team of up to 25 employeesPlanning work schedules for your crew leaders and labourersReading site plans and delivering clear instructions to teamsUndertaking site visits and completing reports/ auditsMaintaining a strong working relationship with customers and suppliersEnsure teams are compliant with health and safety requirementsCo ordinating the ordering of materials and distribution to siteWorking to departmental budgetsProvide and cost for variational quotationsWeekly/ Monthly invoicingOther responsibilities will include:Control quality and ensure work is completed to the specification and time frameWorking alongside other departments in the business to ensure smooth operationDay to day organisation of individual projectsRegular reporting to the Operations Manager on your departments income and expenditure against budgetInvestigate accidents and safety related issuesLiaise with customers and provide clear helpful adviceKey Skills:Candidates must be able to demonstrate the following skills/experience:Minimum 3 years management experience in construction and/or landscaping.Excellent plant and tree knowledgeAbility to read and interpret site plansExcellent communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively under pressureAble to manage multiple teams and overcome challenges calmly and efficientlyExcellent organisation and time management skillsConstruction Health & Safety knowledgeWho should apply?If you are looking for a new challenge then we would like to hear from you.
