Role description
Outer Dowsing Offshore Wind is a joint venture between Total Energies, Corio Generation (a portfolio company of Macquarie Asset Management operating on a standalone basis) and Gulf Energy Development. The Joint Venture (GTR4 Ltd) have the seabed lease rights from The Crown Estate to develop a 1.5 GW project in the UK southern North Sea. The project is in the Development Phase with the aim to achieve all the necessary consents and complete the necessary surveys and engineering to enable the project to become operational before 2030.
ODOW is looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join the Engineering team. You will work as part of the wider project development team enabling the project definition supporting in a variety of topics associated with the works.
This position is in London with flexibility on work from home or elsewhere with regular visits to London Office (Farringdon). Occasional business travel in UK and possibly further afield may be required for this role.
The Assistant Project Manager will play a key role in supporting the cross-package management associated with the project. This role will report to ODOW’s Senior Project Manager.
The successful candidate will have strong project management skills and knowledge of the development phase of an offshore wind farm.
Main responsibilities:
Manage and schedule internal resources as well as internal and external individuals to ensure project deliverables meet time, quality and expectations.
Prepare project reports and deliverables. Facilitate and lead regular status meetings with project team, sponsors, and stakeholders.
Engage with Project Control function to review schedule, risk register and document completion KPIs.
Work with multi-disciplinary team to identify project risks, barriers, and issues and propose possible solutions and mitigation strategies.
Ensure the use of best practices and apply lessons learned from previous projects.
Proactively identify the needs for each engineering package and propose / implement fit-for-purpose solutions.
Prepare proposals detailing a scope of work, team, budget and schedule for completion to satisfy engineering and procurement strategy.
Reviewing Quality documentation for the project, authoring where required.
Coordinate and interface with all members of the JV as necessary in support of the organisation’s objectives.
Liaise with experts in Total Energies and Corio Generation (a portfolio company of Macquarie Asset Management operating on a standalone basis).
Ensure interfaces with other packages, contractors and stakeholders are identified and appropriately managed.
Ensure requirements in terms of Quality and HSE are met.
Internal reporting as required.
Participation in project team meetings and cross-disciplinary co-operation.
Minimum requirements:
Be degree educated in engineering or a related field with reasonable experience
Be chartered or working towards chartered status.
Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage own workload, meet timescales and coordinate both external and internal stakeholders.
Have strong relationship management skills.
Have highly transferable skills from a related industry (for those without offshore wind experience).
Good written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team.
The technical skills to understand complex offshore operations and the ability to exchange with and understand subject experts.
