Role: Contract Manager Salary:
35k plus benefits Job Status: Permanent/Full-Time Location: Croydon Vacancy Reference: VR/05107 Role Description: Bridge Recruitment are currently networking for a Contract Manager to join the Team of one of our clients, a well established cleaning company constantly striving to achieve excellence within the industry, providing services to customers UK-wide. As Contract Manager you will be responsible for an educational Trust in Croydon and a small hub nearby in South West London. You will be responsible for people management, training and development of your Team and retention is key. The ideal Contract Manager will have experience in a similar role or industry and will be a people person, confident in managing teams. Responsibilities:
Familiarise yourself with the contract specification and audit frequency
Ensure that all assigned contracts are managed within agreed budgetary guidelines
Establish the initiation of operations at all new sites
Carry out recruitment, induction and assessment of cleaning operatives and site supervisors and to record details
Ensure that all staff complete an application form and produce adequate evidence to comply with Section 8 of the Immigration Act 1996
Consider, select, organise and administer the appropriate training requirements for all staff
Create timesheets on a weekly basis to enable payroll to be completed
Effectively and courteously liaise with the client on a regular basis and complete a pre-arranged audit and health and safety audit visit as per schedule
Ensure that you are environmentally responsible in your area of work and all supervisors and operatives working under your control are also aware of their environmental responsibilities
Ensure that any corrective actions or non conformances found at audit or by client care feedback are closed out in a timely manner
Ensure each site has adequate cleaning materials and assist in the issue and delivery of materials if required. All stores issued to be within budgetary constraints
Keep control of and be aware of the condition and current status of machinery issued to each site and to arrange for repair and replacement as necessary
Ensure that if required by a member of staff, all PPE is issued promptly and worn as required
Carry out the general management of the route and all activities and responsibilities that could be reasonably expected of the role - including assistance in cleaning operations in case of staff shortage
Be aware of the company Integrated Management System (IMS) and to adhere to laid down procedures and processes, in accordance with the current accreditation
Ensure all staff receive training on Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental issues so that the IMS accreditation status is maintained
Be aware of the Health and Safety issues that apply to the working area at all times
Promote the company in a positive manner at all times
Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of training completed and for the training needs and personal development opportunities for Site Supervisors, working supervisors, janitors and operatives employed on the route
All staff must be core trained on the Uhub training platform within four weeks of commencing operations
Requirements:
Smart and presentable appearance, well mannered and courteous
Proven leadership and motivational skills
An understanding of the relevant computerised systems used by the Company
The ability to respond quickly to problems and queries
In-depth knowledge of cleaning methods and practices, materials and equipment
Current driving licence and sound knowledge of working area
Must be prepared to work towards any relevant qualification identified by the Company as necessary to the development of the role
Able to work within strict budgets and timescales
