The role of the Continuous Improvement Manager is to identify, assess, prioritise, and deliver sustainable process improvements in a collaborative manner balancing customer, people and cost opportunities aligned to the strategic plan. The Continuous Improvement Manager will need to collaborate with teams across the business to break down silos and release process efficiencies through the development of others.
The Role:
The Purpose of the Role:
- Utilise a broad spectrum of Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques and take care to apply the appropriate methodology to the problem at hand without alienating or confusing stakeholders.
- Map 'As Is' and 'To Be' processes and work across the business to develop an operating excellence model.
- Become a trusted colleague with teams across the business to develop a dynamic plan of process improvement activities.
- Collaborate with Tech, Transformation and Strategy to ensure that the delivery plans are aligned to both strategically and in terms of resource.
- Review processes and maintain a robust process management tool and accompanying ways of working.
- Utilise DMAIC, PDCA, Kaizen approaches.
- Provide feedback on the strategic plan and assist in assessment and prioritisation of opportunities.
- Embed methodology and practise of Lean Sigma and Operational excellence across the business.
- Benchmarking, sharing best practices and networking with the wider external CI community.
- Identify the key drivers of cost and waste.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that improvement activities are delivered within the set customer requirements, escalating to business sponsor where required.
- Coordinate with business sponsor and improvement teams to identify and mitigate risks.
- Establish standards and controls to ensure process adoption with business owners.
- Maintain CI framework from ideation to validation of benefits with tracking and reporting.
The Person:
Key Requirements:
- Five years' experience in process optimization, operations, or business management.
- Experience managing data volumes and transferring to relevant information.
- Experience of working with operating models and in process redesign.
- Proven change management experience
- Proven experience of delivering under pressure within conflicting and changing priorities.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred (training can be provided) with the opportunity to develop into Black Belt.
- Process Mapping skills
- A strategic and analytical mindset.
- An excellent communicator with top-notch presentation skills.
- Supply chain experience would be an advantage.
- Experience of statistical analysis would be beneficial.
- Strong excel skills.
