Our client is a leading manufacturing business based in Exeter and due to ongoing growth of the business they need another Continuous Improvement Engineer/Coordinator. You will be responsible for implementing and leading continuous improvement projects to reduce waste and improve key metrics in safety, quality, time, and cost. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify improvement opportunities, define and scope projects, and implement lean tools to improve.  You will also train, coach and influence others.



Continuous Improvement Engineer



Requirements needed for this role:




  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering or manufacturing.

  • A strong understanding of manufacturing systems, quality tools, and their application.

  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of Lean principles and tools (Kaizen, 5 Why, 5S, TPM, OEE, etc.).

  • Proven experience leading improvement activities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively at all levels of the organisation.

  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills, including stakeholder identification and management.

  • The ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

  • A proven track record of turning theory into practical solutions.



Continuous Improvement Engineer



Main duties:




  • Partner with leaders to identify improvement opportunities, develop solutions, and support building the business case.

  • Lead and manage CI projects, from start-up to handover, ensuring results and systems are sustained.

  • Report project activity, progress, and results to leadership, escalating any roadblocks.

  • Facilitate Kaizen events and shop floor improvement activities.

  • Coordinate and manage multiple projects, aligning implementation with the business unit’s strategic plan.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
