Your new company
Consultancy (confidential).
If you think you are the right match for the following opportunity, apply after reading the complete description.
Hays is working exclusively with this client.
Your new role
My client specialises in Actuarial Consulting in the general insurance industry, and has an exciting and new opportunity for a high calibre Actuary to join their team. This is a newly created role due to organic growth.
You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients across personal, commercial and specialty lines, where you will be required to deliver GI consulting projects or short-term secondments, applying a wide range of actuarial skills to solve their clients’ problems.
Projects vary from traditional consulting projects (e.g., reserve review, capital model validation, audit support) to more specialist ones (e.g., Part VII transfer, expert witness, M&A, R&D projects).
As it’s a smaller independent consultancy, the role is a fantastic opportunity for someone to develop their skills across various different lines of business, whilst also enhancing their skills across reserving, capital, and pricing, as well as other more specialist work in areas such as R&D and M&A etc.
This is an excellent opportunity to progress your career, with a clear path for progression and promotion internally. You will have the opportunity to gain a breadth of experience across many different areas, as well as being able to promote your own personal brand across the market, working with various different clients.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will need to be able to demonstrate you are a fast learner, with commercial awareness of what is trending in the market.
My client's hire requirements are more focused on the calibre and personality of the individual, than previous skills obtained. The role is purely GI, so someone with previous experience of reserving, capital, or pricing etc is required.
Knowledge of programming languages such as R and Python would be of interest.
In terms of level, you will be a qualified actuary (or nearly), whether that be through clear exam progress, or by experience gained (given up the exams).
What you'll get in return
The base salary on offer is quite broad (£70k up to £100k) and is dependent on the level of relevant experience of the applicant (i.e. qualified with PQE, or nearing fellowship).
Benefits, bonus, and study support (if necessary) are included in the overall package.
They have a flexible hybrid working pattern.
