An amazing job opportunity has arisen for a committed Consultant Psychiatrist to work in an exceptional mental health hospital based in the Stockton-on-the-Forest, York area. You will be working for one of UK's leading health care providersThis is a medium secure psychiatric hospital, which cares for both mental illness and learning disability patients, which includes an Autistic Spectrum Disorder service and a female service**To be considered for this position you must hold a full GMC Registration**As a Consultant Psychiatrist your key responsibilities include:Taking clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews and the development of a therapeutic milieuFulfilling the role of Responsible Clinician to patients detained under the Mental Health Act (#####)Supervising the process of referral and admission including contributing to preadmission assessments of young people with other team membersOffering a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team in relation to the assessment, formulation and treatment of young peopleContributing to management meetings and clinical governance meetings for the services provided at the hospital, and contributing to the development of service strategyContributing to in-house training programmes within the services and offering supervision to other members of the multi-disciplinary team, particularly junior medical staffMaintaining CPD and re-validation requirements, as determined by the Royal College of Psychiatrists or other relevant statutory bodiesThe following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:You will fulfil the role of Responsible Clinician to patientsYou must hold a CCT, or equivalent, in Forensic Psychiatry, Learning Disability or General PsychiatryHave experience working with women in a secure serviceThe role will include participation in our on call rota (none residential)The successful Consultant Psychiatrist will receive an excellent salary of £160,000 per annum. This exciting position is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours a week.
