Job summaryWe are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our East Crisis Team. The team is based in Basepoint Business Park in Havant but we have satellite sites mainly in Gosport where it anticipated this post will mostly be based.The post has arisen due to the relocation of the previous post holder. The post-holder will work in a team with another experienced, substantive full-time consultant and a multi-disciplinary team consisting of nurses, psychologists, healthcare support works, occupational therapists, care navigators, social workers, and pharmacists, as well as doctors in training grades (Core Trainees and Senior Registrars), medical students, ACP, student nurses.Main duties of the jobThis post is for a 5 PA Consultant in Crisis and Home Treatment (in Adult Mental Health) in Portsmouth and South East Hampshire. This is a great opportunity to join a team committed to continuous service improvement.The crisis and home treatment offer a 24/7 service for adult (and from time-to-time older adults with functional illnesses). Urgent assessments are tri-aged directly by CRHTT and "soon" or "routine" appointments would be referred to the CMHTs. This CRHTT covers the whole of South East Hampshire and provides gatekeeping for admissions to the acute care pathway for adult mental health beds. The base is in Havant with satellite clinic rooms at Basepoint or at Gosport War Memorial Hospital. Qualifications

EssentialFull Registration with the General Medical CouncilTo hold Approved Clinician status at the point of taking up postMRCPsych or recognised equivalentEligible for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 12 months of CCT at time of interview.Approved under section 12(2) of theMental Health Act 1983.

Experience

EssentialAt least 6 months experience of working in CRHTT setting at ST4+ level or equivalent.At least 6 months clinical experience of working in an NHS setting.Excellent knowledge in specialtyExcellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-socialperspective and wide medical knowledgeExcellent oral and written communication skills in EnglishAble to manage clinical complexity and uncertaintyMakes decisions based on evidence and experienceincluding the contribution of othersAble to meet duties under MHA and MCA
