We offer the opportunity for individuals to develop and grow in a knowledgeable, creative, collaborative, and passionate environment.About the RoleThe role is predominately project-based, working with a client organisation. Depending on the project, you may be dedicated to supporting a single larger/complex project or you may deliver a number of smaller projects with multiple clients.Duties may include but are not limited to:Delivery of the project(s) safely, to time, cost and in an environmentally responsible manner while satisfying the quality requirements of the client and end user.Working within multi-disciplinary teams (both internal and external contractors) typically as part of a matrix organisation to achieve shared project goals.Management of project forecast and spend within agreed budgets, providing periodic updates via the management review process.Reporting of project updates (progress, schedule, and commercial information), data analysis and production of reports and visuals to communicate such with project / programme managers and stakeholders as appropriate.Building and maintaining strong relationships with key project stakeholders, producing a robust stakeholder and customer relationship plan, and implementing accordingly.Production, maintenance, and implementation of the Project Management Plan.Active management of project risks, issues, change and contingency throughout the project lifecycle, implementing meaningful mitigation measures and following escalation processes where appropriate.Support the project sponsor / Client in preparing key business case documentation, securing investment and senior stakeholder management.Support the development of procurement and resourcing plans to support strategic goals.Consistent demonstration of safety and wellness behaviours, supporting a safe working environment. Some projects may require the development of safety plans, site-safety visits, and other relevant reporting.Whilst working with Mercury3 you wouldn’t just be developing your project management skills. Whether your passion lies in bidding, marketing, account management or networking we will give you the opportunity to explore that further with us.We also support our Consultants to retain a strong focus on continuous professional development.Person SpecificationIf you have project management experience in the rail or related sectors, then we want to hear from you.Successful project and contract management experience, delivering value-for-money solutions, demonstrable through all stages of the project lifecycle. Experience in rail or highways industries is desirable though not essential.Experience managing projects within recognised methodologies such as APM, MSP, AGILE or PRINCE. Hold or working towards the APM qualifications or equivalent.Commercial awareness and financial skills to provide accurate forecasts and administer contracts.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to draw out key themes in complex material to produce reports appropriate to the varying audiences.Ability to build effective relationships quickly, enabling a collaborative working environment, leading and motivating a team to achieve joint goals.Demonstrable evaluation and effective decision-making skills, drawing on the expertise of your team and Subject Matter Experts.A keen interest in helping develop the business, identifying business opportunities and promoting company initiatives for continuous improvement.Open to travel as the project requires.LocationWe offer flexible working opportunities; working from an office, home, or client-based locations, to provide the optimal work-life balance and face-to-face interaction.
