Consultant Interventional CardiologistNHS Medical & Dental: ConsultantJob overviewThis is an exciting opportunity for a first rate Interventional Cardiologist to join a vibrant team in a major tertiary centre.The successful candidate will join our team of 10 consultant interventional cardiologists. They will be a highly trained clinical cardiologist and coronary interventionalist who will join an interventional cardiology on-call rota which provides primary PCI for acute myocardial infarction. They will be able to demonstrate a clinical sub-specialty expertise within interventional cardiology e.g. Transcatheter intervention for structural heart disease, CTO PCI and aptitude for service advancement and development within this sub-specialty area.Main duties of the jobConsultant leadership and delivery of the clinical management of adult inpatients and out patients with a wide spectrum of general cardiological conditions.Consultant leadership and delivery of catheter lab operating lists.Contribution to an interventional cardiology on-call rota including primary PCI for acute myocardial infarction.Clinical supervision of and proper delegation to a team of junior doctors and advanced nurse practitioners.The appointee will be expected to undertake administrative duties associated with the running of his/her clinical work. There will be full secretarial support and the provision of fully equipped office and IT facilities.
