CNWL are currently looking for a full time time, 10 PA, substantive Older Adults Consultant Psychiatrist, within the Older Adults Community Mental Helt Team.The Westminster OPHA CMHT is a well-established multidisciplinary team located in Victoria, London and covers the whole of the City of Westminster. The CMHT includes an integrated Home Treatment Team. Staff are experienced in multi-agency working. The OPHA CMHT acts as a single point of access to the service with referrals being triaged daily and feedback discussed at daily clinical meetings that are chaired by the Team Manager. The OPHA CMHT undertake comprehensive assessments and treatment. All qualified team members carry out standardised initial assessments, which are discussed at the daily team meetings.Thisis a replacement post that has become available following the current consultant leaving the NHS to take up a role in the private sector.Main duties of the jobProvide senior medical responsibility for the assessment and management of patients in the team.Act as Clinical supervisor to post graduate medical trainees and the Specialty doctor in the team.Provide oversight of and contribution to robust care planning, risk assessment and risk management processes.Support recruitment and ensure optimal retention of team members and uphold moraleEnsure good service quality and performance.Ensure training needs of psychiatry trainees and medical students are met as well as supporting training of other junior clinical staff.Ensure own CPD.About usThe OPHA Community Mental Health Team in Westminster is a well-established multidisciplinary team providing community services covering the borough of Westminster. The team supports older adults with both functional and organic disorders, although early-stage memory difficulties usually will be referred through the memory service. The team operates to needs-led service criteria rather than age, using the standards published by the Royal College of Psychiatrists. The team consists of an integrated Home Treatment Team who manage patients in crisis at risk of requiring in-patient admission or to facilitate early discharge from hospital.Westminster Adult Home Treatment Team (HTT):This team operates of two hubs, one at Woodfield Road in the north of the borough and one at 192 Vauxhall Bridge road, adjacent the premises of the community team in the south of the borough.Job descriptionJob responsibilitiesClinical Duties:The post-holder will have consultant clinical responsibility, leadership and expertise for catchment area patients referred to the Westminster Older People and Healthy Ageing CMHT. He/she will be expected to assess, follow up and carry a case load of the most complex cases referred to the OPHA CMHT & HTT. The post holder will support multi-disciplinary working in all aspects of patient care.Westminster OA HTT gatekeep Kershaw (on both Kershaw and 3BP) and Redwood ward inpatient beds for Westminster patients. They contact the ward to request a bed for admission.
