Job DescriptionCONSULTANT DERIVATIVES ROLELooking for Consultant Derivatives talent in London. The legal team takes pride in thinking differently and providing commercial solutions to clients on a live basis.ROLEWe are looking for lawyers looking for a varied role that will offer a broad range of experience with firms across financial services. The ideal candidate will have at least 10+ years’ experience and an excellent working knowledge of:financial services legal and regulatory issues;trading, execution and clearing;structured derivatives and financing techniques;repo and securities lending;general capital markets transactions; andlegal documentation and agreements.The right candidates will be honest, driven and committed to contributing to the team’s and clients’ success. They will be results focused, accountable, and looking for a role that will give them the flexibility for their personal commitments.RESPONSIBILITIESThe Consultant will work within the team to play integral role on a variety of derivatives and structured finance matters, including without limitation:derivatives clearing;advise on regulatory compliance matters;complex OTC and exchange-traded derivatives transactions;repos and securities lending;risk mitigation strategies;legal documentation including ISDA, CSA, GMRA, GMSLA etc; andfinancial services regulation.SKILLS AND ABILITIESLaw degree;Current practising certificate;At least 10+ years’ legal work experience in the jurisdiction you hold a practising certificate;English language proficiency;Independent, resourceful, and confident with great problem-solving skills;Adept at building relationships internally and externally;Strong interpersonal skills, business sense, and professionalism to communicate with all levels of management, staff and clients located in different jurisdictions;Proactive, able to take the initiative and anticipate the firm’s and client’s needs;Ability to work effectively with a range of personality types and seniority levels;Highly motivated self-starter with a history of pushing for deadline-driven results;Ability to jump in and support the team when/where needed;Lead and be one step ahead, constantly thinking about what needs to be done next to improve efficiency for the team and our clients;Ability to work in an environment requiring attention to detail and high levels of accuracy;Ability to work autonomously where required, meet deadlines and handle queries from inside and outside the company;Ability to commute to our offices in London as this is an in-office role with flexible working policy; andA mac laptop as we operate a BYOA(pple) policy to allow for maximum agility.WORKING ARRANGEMENTS & LOCATIONThis unique role operates on a zero-hours basis, signifying a flexible schedule with no guaranteed minimum hours per week. As an on-call Consultant, you will be called upon as needed to provide expert insights and strategic guidance. With flexible hours and anchor days in the office.
