Location:
Hybrid working initially with expectation for routine travel to Aberdeen / London / other sites. Eventual European fabrication site location with routine travel to Aberdeen/London.
Purpose of Role:
This role is responsible for construction contractor selection, construction completion and delivery of the Viking CCS steel jacket and topsides. The role will initially be located within the UK and involve bid preparation and evaluation leading to construction contractor selection. Following contractor selection, the role will relocate to a European construction site and be responsible for Harbour site team and construction contractor site management leading to sail-away of jacket and topsides.
Critical Responsibilities:
Ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe manner, complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation, and Harbour Energy HSES Procedures.
Areas of Accountability:
Preparation of relevant input to jacket and topsides construction bid package.
Participation in bid evaluation and recommendation of preferred construction contractor and fabrication yard.
Construction contract Owner requiring management, monitoring, reporting and verifying construction progress against plan, and ensuring contract deliverables and requirements are met.
Delivery of jacket and topsides ready for sail-away to T&I contractor.
Areas of Responsibility:
Day to day management of Viking site team and construction contractor
Participation in fabrication site safety and quality walkabouts
Active and visible leadership complimenting contractor safety programs and processes
Interface coordination with external contractors (T&I, engineering, suppliers)
Interface coordination with internal Harbour disciplines/functions
Ensuring resources, engineering, equipment and material deliveries are on track and taking appropriate measures to maintain schedule and progress.
Promoting and driving continuous construction improvements
Evaluation of build methods and providing improvement suggestions
Working with contractor to proactively manage mechanical completion, pre-commissioning and preservation activities to minimise offshore carryover.
Identifying and managing risks and opportunities
Managing and responding to changes, variations, site queries
Working with Contractor to expedite relevant drawing and material deliveries.
Critical Skills, Qualifications, Experience, etc.:
Essential
Significant experience of major oil and gas construction projects.
Experience in managing safety in fabrication yards, hazard identification and formal incident investigation procedures.
Experience in commissioning activities associated with Major Projects.
Fabrication contract administration experience.
Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Proficient in use of common IT applications such as Microsoft Office.
Preferred
HNC or comparable education or experience. Less formal education may be compensated with documented relevant experience.
Previous experience of topsides modules and steel jacket construction.
Awareness of Harbour Energy HSES Policies and Business Management System (BMS).
Awareness of Harbour Energy Values & Business Principles.
