As a Project Manager at our airport, each day brings unique challenges. You ll have the opportunity to lead strategic projects across our entire customer journey. From concept to execution, you'll manage the full project lifecycle on a wide variety of impactful projects in a live environment, shaping the future of one of the worlds busiest airports.

Our projects vary across the airport, with our smaller works division delivering projects ranging from £500k through to £10m. The current project portfolio includes retail unit refurbishments and fit-outs, International Departure Lounges (IDL) refurbishments with full FFE, and updating dilapidated buildings to meet our NetZero commitment.

What is the role?
Reporting to the Programme Manager/Senior Project Manager, youll be responsible for taking complex projects through various stages, from design and procurement to construction and delivery. Youll focus on high-quality results, ensuring projects are completed within the planned budget, timeline, and quality/compliance standards. Youll also lead the smooth transfer of projects to the relevant departments, ensuring Airport Operational Readiness planning and activities are in place.

Other duties include:

Continuously developing and upholding world-class health, safety, and environmental standards across projects and associated contractors, aiming for excellence.
Uncovering and finding solutions to challenges and risks throughout the projects, keeping timelines on track and ensuring the airport operates smoothly without disruptions.
Ensuring compliance with laws, statutory obligations, standards, and necessary planning permissions.
Contributing to the development of standards, managing, motivating, coaching, and mentoring team members, and helping talented individuals reach their potential.
What are we looking for?
Our live environment requires a flexible and adaptable approach, with problem-solving skills and an innovative outlook. Involved in projects from inception to completion, you will work alongside multiple stakeholders. In addition, this role requires:

Previous experience as a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager delivering large projects or multi-year programmes within the construction or infrastructure sectors, typically over £10 million. A background in construction, including projects focused on Retail, Property, or Car Parking, is desired.
Qualified to practitioner level in project management (e.g., APMP Project Management Qualification or PRINCE2 Practitioner).
Experience in leading teams and managing external suppliers and contractors.
Experience handling several projects simultaneously, especially when they need to work together or overlap.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas simply to multiple stakeholders.
