About this role



Hyde Group Ltd are seeking a Construction Manager for involvement in the Early Contractor Involvement phase (Stage 1) of a major project to install equipment for at Sellafield. The Construction Manager will work collaboratively with the HGL and Client team to deliver the following:




  • Identify issues, opportunities, threats & mitigations in order to de-risk the Phase 2 MEICA installation onsite.

  • Input to Temporary Works Equipment design

  • Transportation plans, lift plans, Statements of Work / RAMS documents to be identified and produced.

  • Using past site experience & knowledge, provide input to Installation schedule working with the P6 Planner, technical lead / H & S and Quality Manager.

  • Provide input into a detailed installation methodology

  • Attendance at FAT/IWT facilities (Wolverhampton & Spain)

  • Provide input to the quality documentation required where necessary.

  • Plan and establish procedures in order to ensure that all construction operations, project schedules and milestones are achieved.

  • Ensure full compliance with our 100% Safe value and Perfect Delivery philosophy.

  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Company policies and procedures, health and safety, environment and quality standards.

  • Support all process and procedures to ensure the company is compliant with legislative requirements and company agreed internal standards

  • Over site and assurance of all aspects of the MEICA installation and provide problem solving skills as they arise.

  • Manage deliverables with a significant importance to the future generations of national nuclear safety.

  • Ensure weekly, monthly and year end targets are achieved



Essential Requirements:




  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in relevant subject.

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering Nuclear Projects

  • Good understanding of Sellafield site procedures.

  • Good management skills, with the ability to motivate self and colleagues to achieve high standards of compliance.

  • Good operational planning and time management skills; able to manage others simultaneously working site wide without compromising on standards and quality.

  • Ability to work with colleagues to deliver project and operational performance.

  • Sound knowledge of construction practices and standards.

  • The construction manager will be required attend regular programme updates with HGL and the client at their Warrington site.

  • Be able to travel to the manufacturing sites in Wolverhampton and Spain during phase 1 for Assembly / IWT witnessing.

  • Must hold a UK driving licence.
