Waites Recruitment Consultancy LTD are seeking an Experience Estimator/Senior Estimator for a well established client o a FULL TIME basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate who is looking to grow. Please note that my client really wants someone from the building and contracting side not PQS / Consultancy.





Company Description



My client is a privately owned, bespoke building contractor and�are based in the rural village of Mawdesley, Lancashire. My client�specialises in providing professional architectural design, planning, project management, technical coordination, full construction services operating as principal contractor on complex, bespoke residential new build, extension, and refurbishment projects. They work alongside developers and private clients to deliver projects on time, on budget, which exceed expectations.





Role Description



This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Estimator/Estimator�located in Lancashire and working on prime residential projects throughout the North of England. The successful individual will be responsible for all day-to-day tasks associated with project estimating, project cost control, BOQ production, cost management and monitoring, cost planning, monthly cost reporting and client billing.





The Role




  • Initial meeting with client and assessing project scope

  • Producing accurate measures & take offs for projects

  • Producing estimates & tenders for new projects

  • Produce and update procurement schedules for all projects

  • Prepare the required documents to issue to subcontractors to enable them to tender effectively for works packages

  • Identify appropriate subcontractors for all aspects of works

  • Prepare client cost reports and billing

  • Manage and monitor variations and changes

  • Assist in the financial appraisal of new opportunities

  • Work closely with architects and other professionals

  • Navigate and understand building regulations & codes

  • Process project paperwork and travel to building sites as required

  • Monitor costs and expenditure across the construction process





Qualifications




  • Extensive experience of managing cost on projects within residential sector

  • Skills in Estimating, Cost Control, BOQ, Cost Management, and Cost Forecasting and Planning

  • Experienced working within a principal building contractor

  • Experienced in creating detailed cost reports

  • Solid experience in the construction industry

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to lead a team and work under pressure

  • Professional certification is preferred, but not essential

  • Clean drivers licence

  • Conversant with Microsoft Office, Excel, Project, Bluebeam and other programme software

  • Experience of JCT & FMB contracts

  • Educated as a minimum to HNC/HND/Degree level (or equivalent)

  • Experience of Pre-Qualification and Tendering process for complex bespoke projects



The Individual



Successful candidates will have stable careers, along with previous experience working on bespoke residential new build, conversion, and refurbishment projects, and will be able to oversee the cost management on several projects at any one time.



This is a permanent position for professional Senior Estimators or Quantity Surveyors who want a long-term career with a bespoke residential Design & Build contractor, who are ambitious for career progression and would help develop the team and the wider business.



Note: Relevant experience can offset a degree qualification, while relevant certifications can demonstrate a sound knowledge of the expertise for the role.
