Construction Estimator / Surveyor

Job Description 3 month contract for Redditch and Bromsgrove Council . Ability to travel between and work on sites ( inspections Etc)- travel as and when required, weekly
Purpose of the Role
The Building Surveyor will assist the Senior Building surveyors in the effective management and delivery of Building projects on Council managed properties including operation, non-operational buildings, investment land and buildings.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
To prepare detailed scheme designs with costing, through feasibility and programme delivery, to completion of projects. Specification of works including organisation of documents for tender / quotation and advising on appointment of contractors, designers and procurement routes. To include preparation of designs / drawings using AutoCAD.
Advise on the maintenance and supervision of the maintenance of building by providing technical support to Facilities Officers, determining the condition of existing buildings, identify and analysing defects including proposals for repair.
To assist the Senior Building Surveyor with the effectively manage of the Condition Survey data base. To carry out cyclical condition surveys of Public Buildings preparing condition reports and update database as works are completed and to assist in the preparation on planned maintenance programme.
Qualifications and Professional Memberships
HND/ Degree in Building surveying plus minimum 2 years post qualification in a Building surveying Role
