A rare opening for a Design Manager to join an established regional contractor in Hertfordshire who operate in the Education, Commercial, Mixed-Use and Science sectors. 

They are small enough to be friendly and personable and large enough to offer you structure and progression

They work on general contracting schemes up to around £20m

Benefits:

• Salary up to £70,000 plus the below benefits

The role: Design Manager

As a Design Manager you will be responsible for technical compliance and design management mainly at early feasibility and procurement stages, with also with involvement monitoring the on-site Design Coordination and managing external consultants. 

Joining an established design team, you will be working on a range of schemes, typically between £5-12m in value.

As a Design Manager you will lead design process on D & B projects to produce accurate coordinated information in line with the agreed specification, programme and cost plan. Reporting directly to the Head Of Design 

You will enjoy a flexible working pattern between home, site, and their office

Working hours 8.30 - 5 with 1 hour for lunch

Experience as a Design Manager from early planning stages through to project completion. 

Candidates who are currently on the architectural side and looking to progress their career with a contractor are invited to apply 

Design Managers from main contracting and consultancy backgrounds, with general contracting, M & E, Civil & Structural and housing experience will be considered 

Good experience and proficiency with Design Management processes
