About the role In your role as Compliance Technical Specialist you will make a meaningful and valued contribution from the outset. This role will provide a great opportunity tosupport the Head of Group Compliance in managing a range of compliance tasks across the business in furtherance of delivering the annual Compliance Plan. What you will be doing As a trusted part of the Group General Counsel you will be responsible for:Managing and reporting on regulatory projects, including advising on and supporting the business in implementing regulatory changeSupport the Compliance Monitoring team with mapping and interpretation of key regulatory requirements as are applicable to the annual Compliance Monitoring Plan, as requiredAssist in the design and maintenance of the compliance training contentSupport the delivery of the Compliance team’s key processes and controls, production of monthly MI, KRI/KPI and risk reportingLead on tracking regulatory horizon developments in the UK as they relate to financial crimeSupport on tracking regulatory horizon developments as they relate to The Pensions RegulatorLead on the completion of the annual USS Group (USSL, USSIM, FCA registered SPVs) Financial Crime Risk AssessmentsAssist the USSIM MLRO to prepare the annual MLRO ReportManage and oversee updates to the framework of Compliance Policies, Manuals and Procedures, including approvals via relevant committees About you We know that sometimes people can be put off applying for a job if they don't tick every box, if you're excited about working for us and have most of the skills or experience we're looking for, then please apply, regardless of whether you meet all the requirements outlined in this profile.To be successful in the role you will have:Thorough knowledge of UK regulatory framework, including the UK’s measures to combat financial crime.A good understanding (and maintenance of understanding) of rules and regulations (FCA and tPR) on defined contribution pension schemes as they relate to and apply in practice to the USS group.A willingness to develop relationships at all levels in delivering pragmatic and proportionate compliance support, advice, monitoring and training solutions within USSIM’s Public and, Private Markets Groups.Demonstrable experience of managing compliance tasks such as compliance framework implementation and delivery of technical compliance advice.
