Compliance Policy & Advice ManagerSalary:
£55,000 - £60,000per annum (dependent on experience)Hours:Full time - 35 hoursContract: PermanentLocation: Hybrid Working (Head Office, West Bromwich)The West Brom are looking to recruit a Compliance Policy & Advice Manager to join our Risk team.The purpose of this role is to provide sound, accurate and commercial advice on regulatory (conduct and prudential risk) matters affecting the business, that will enable the business to operate in accordance with industry best practice as well as meeting regulatory standards. In addition, be responsible for line management responsibilities for the Compliance Business Partners.The role holder will also be expected to provide input into the Compliance, Data Protection, & Financial Crime Risk Management Frameworks and Policies to assist the Chief Compliance Officer in providing the Society with a Risk Assurance function as a 2nd line of defence, to protect both the Society and its customers by ensuring that Compliance Risks are effectively identified and managed.Key Responsibilities:Manage and lead a small team of Compliance Business Partners.Develop and extend the team knowledge and competence in technical areas to minimise the impact of staff turnover and maintain continuity of support.Provide advice and guidance to the business on technical regulatory issues, utilising broad financial services knowledge to contribute to policy changes to in-house regulations, analysing the impact of regulatory changes, appreciating when potential issues require escalating, and ensuring the implementation of any required changes to internal policies/procedures.Ensure that the Society attains the highest standards of conduct and data protection regulatory compliance, in all areas of business operation, to meet all appropriate regulatory and legislative requirements by working closely with first line colleagues to fully embed the Society’s regulatory compliance “Traceability Matrix”.Provide subject matter expert advice on all conduct related regulatory sourcebooks (BCOBS, MCOB, ICOB, CONC, PERG, SYSC etc.) as well as providing horizon scanning overviews of relevant Prudential Compliance matters.Meet regulatory/legislative timescales providing well-structured, well-considered summaries of proposed regulatory change to the business and collating responses to the regulator as required.To participate in, and at times lead, Society projects and initiatives in support of improving the processes and products offered to customers.
