Role purpose
GB Bank have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, technically minded Compliance Manager to join our Team. The successful candidate will take on the duties that help support the business' continued growth so this would be a fantastic career step for someone with compliance experience within financial services.
This role is a hands-on position for someone who is looking to help lead and drive the process improvements at the Bank. You’ll find yourself delivering compliance monitoring reviews, interpreting / providing guidance on regulatory changes, providing regulatory advice to Line 1 business areas and signing-off new customer communications.
Ideally, you would be a proactive professional and someone who is comfortable implementing change whilst making business-focussed decisions to improve the ongoing successes of a developing firm.
The post holder is expected to be an appropriately skilled and qualified compliance professional who will be able to understand and ensure compliance with the relevant regulatory regimes in the UK and join a supportive and friendly Compliance team working in a collaborative environment.
In this role, you’ll find yourself…
Ensuring that our Team are compliant with regulations across the company
Designing and delivering compliance monitoring / risk assurance reviews
Reporting on progress to close compliance monitoring / risk assurance actions
Investigating to discover the root cause of compliance problems when they arise
Performing research to stay informed about evolving standards
Educating our Team on how to improve compliance
Motivating our Team to not only strive to meet compliance standards, but also to exceed them for operating efficiency
Leading and helping in the design of programmes that improve compliance
Responsible for organising and minute taking at the monthly Conduct and Compliance Committee
Tracking and reporting on upstream regulatory developments.
Producing papers and reports, utilising internal and external Management information, as required.
Providing support to the Head of Compliance, deputising as appropriate.
A bit about you – You are/have most of the following:
Proven working experience in UK conduct regulations, regulatory change management and applicable laws.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions with little information available
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to analyse and interpret information quickly
In-depth understanding of industry standards and regulations (PRA and FCA)
Excellent understanding of reporting procedures and record-keeping
Excellent project management skills and the ability to be methodical and diligent
Detail orientation and the ability to pay attention and identify minimal changes in regulations
Excellent conflict management skills and the ability to dissolve any issues easily

What else do I need to know?
Location:
You will predominately work from home but will be required to travel to our offices when your role requires this.
Salary:
£50,000 - £60,000 per annum
Hours:
35 Hours per week
