Compliance Manager Required for an innovative and fast-growing company which designs, manufactures and supplies specialist roofing systems to construction companies, roofing contractors and the solar industry.Location: RoystonJob Type: PermanentHours: 40 hour week within Business hours 7am -5pmSalary: £40,000 - £50,000 depending on experienceRole overviewThe Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the organization's adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. They will play a critical role in identifying compliance risks, developing compliance programs, and implementing controls to mitigate these risks. This position requires strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills to maintain the highest standards of compliance within the organization. The key objective is for the organisation to be consistently 100% ‘audit ready’.Key responsibilities1. Regulatory Compliance.Monitor and keep fully abreast of relevant laws and regulations applicable to the organization's industry and operations.Ensure that the organization complies with all applicable state, and local regulations. Ensure full compliance with all appropriate legislation including but not limited to;o Health & Safety at Work Acto GDPRo CDM Regulationso Construction Product Regulationso Maintenance and servicing of machinery, certification, calibration etc etco Maintenance and upkeep of building systems eg electrical, fire safety etc2. Policy Development.Develop and maintain compliance policies and procedures in alignment with changing regulations and business needs.Communicate these policies effectively to employees. Includes but not limited to;o ISO9001 Quality Management StandardConduct regular internal audits to identify potential compliance risks within the organization.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies to mitigate these risks. Includes ensuring that all process SOPS/RAMS are up to date and adequate.4. Training and Education:Develop and deliver compliance training programs to educate employees on relevant compliance topics and the importance of quality management principles. Ensure that employees understand their compliance responsibilities and obligations.5. Monitoring and Auditing:Establish and implement a system for ongoing monitoring and auditing of the organization's operations, to ensure compliance of quality management standards and internal processesInvestigate any suspected violations and take appropriate corrective actions.6. Reporting:Prepare and submit compliance reports to senior management and regulatory bodies as required. Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of compliance activities.7. Compliance Investigations: Lead or assist in compliance investigations, including gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and recommending appropriate actions in response to violations.8. Vendor and Third-Party Compliance:Evaluate and ensure that vendors and third-party partners comply with relevant regulations and contractual agreements.Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging regulations and trends in compliance.Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive initiatives to enhance compliance efforts.Skills, knowledge and experience requiredAttention to detail and strong organizational skills.Experience in similar role for a manufacturing company already heldProven experience in compliance managementIn-depth knowledge of relevant H&S law and regulations pertaining to sheet metal manufacturingStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Ability to work collaboratively across all departmentsIn-depth understanding of construction industry standards and regulationsExcellent understanding of reporting procedures and record-keepingProject management skills and the ability to be methodical and diligentPrior experience of compliance in ISO9001, ISO14001Knowledge of CDM regulationsIn depth knowledge of GDPR regulations and requirementsIdeally three or more years experience in a similar roleGood communication skills including written and spoken EnglishStrong interpersonal skillsAlignment with and commitment to the company values40 hour week31 days holiday PAFree lunches available from kitchenOnsite parkingModern air-conditioned officesIf you are interested in this position, please apply direct with your CV or call Sarah on 01707 377088.Thank you for your interest in this vacancy, which is being advertised by Osborne Appointments, who are acting as an employment agency / business.
