About the role

Role Summary

We are looking for a Compliance Inspector to make a positive contribution to our core purpose of keeping our homes safe places for residents to live. The right person would be assisting in compiling building safety cases including collating the golden thread of information on buildings and ensure that this information is digitally stored. Contribute to our digital strategy by supporting and promoting digital engagement. Assist in ensuring excellent communication with residents and provide administration support to ensure the building safety and compliance contracts are effectively managed.

Location: Office base is Tunbridge Wells with some travel to our Epsom office

Salary: £31,827

Hours: 35

Contract: Permanent

Probation Period: 6 Months

Notice Period: 1 Month

What will you be doing?

Role Specific Responsibilities

* Carry out routine fire safety inspections across all areas. Act on findings and record outcomes.

* Organise surveys and works for the fire safety and services contracts I.e., fire risk assessments, emergency lighting, fire alarms and communal smoke detection. Work closely with the contractors to ensure all properties are 100% compliant each month.

* Organise contractor meetings, gather all relevant documents, produce a meeting agenda, produce accurate minutes from the meeting and circulate relevant documents.

* Respond to complaints relating to building safety.

* Update spreadsheets and data to ensure compliancy with building safety.

* Carry out effective filing and inputting of data for all fire related workstreams.

* Raise purchase orders for building safety and compliance contracts.

* Ensure all insurance and bi-weekly inspections are completed for the play areas, including updating spreadsheets to ensure compliancy.

* Ensure servicing of sewage pumps are completed, including management of a spreadsheet to ensure all are 100% compliant.

* Provide overall administration support for all building safety and compliance contracts.

* To communicate effectively with both internal and external customers, focussing on the needs of the customer and ensuring that services and methods of delivery meet their needs and expectations.

Consider and highlight any risk to the organisation or individuals whilst delivering your role.

Consider resident feedback (the resident voice) in all service delivery, using data and insight and actively engaging with residents to understand their needs, views and priorities and tailor services accordingly.

This role may involve visiting other offices and stock and you may be required to have your own car and full driving licence.

About You

Education & Qualifications

Any technical certificate (Desirable).

Willing to work towards affiliate membership with any of the following bodies IFE, IOSH, CIOB, RICS (Desirable).

Key Skills & Competencies

Proven experience and ability to deliver excellent customer care and valuing diversity.

Full driving licence and use of a car.

Previous experience within social housing in a similar role (Desirable).

Building trade background an advantage (Desirable).

Experience of report writing and presenting (Desirable).

Experience of a health and safety compliance environment (Desirable).

Behaviours

Able to communicate effectively with a range of people, adapting style and approach accordingly.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Ability to work unsupervised, and prioritise workload to meet deadlines and agreed targets.
