THE COMPANY:
We are working with an expanding banking Group based in Kent, who provide simple and straightforward day-to-day banking solutions to their specialist customers. They are looking for a Compliance & Financial Crime Officer to join the team.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
To undertake horizon scanning on regulatory developments with regards to both Compliance and Financial Crime matters. To summarise the impact of regulatory developments for stakeholders on the business. To undertake monitoring, in accordance with the Compliance Monitoring Plan, for both Compliance and financial crime matters. To collate data, prepare reports and submit dashboards for management information to the relevant committees of the Bank on both Compliance and financial crime related matters . Working closely with both Compliance and Financial Crime colleagues on various thematic reviews and projects Collaborating closely with stakeholders to support in the development and interpretation of management information that is aligned to risks identified from the risk appetite statements and compliance framework Provide guidance to the 1st LoD on legal, regulatory, and best practice requirements to strengthen operational controls. Through effective monitoring, support in the testing of 1st LoD policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate financial crime and compliance risks. Ensure that the 1st LoD policies, procedures and controls are in line with the UK’s legal, regulatory and industry guidance through periodic testing. Capturing and tracking open compliance and financial crime actions, to ensure that they are being addressed on a timely basis, and where not, are being reported and escalated, as required. Additional ad hoc tasks as required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Significant compliance experience gained in a financial institution or other similar environment The individual must demonstrate that they have a professional level of scepticism and challenge. Has undertaken compliance and/or financial crime monitoring. Broad understanding of FCA, PRA and Payment Services regulations, and/or Money Laundering Regulations and JMLSG Guidance; and demonstratable knowledge of how to apply these requirements. Able to positively influence and build excellent working place relationships with the 1st and 2nd Line stakeholders. Experience of being a positive role model and driving good culture and risk awareness.
