Salary £33,000 - £37,000A law firm in London are looking for a Compliance Assistant to join their team in London on a hybrid basis.Key ResponsibilitiesTo support the COLP, Leader of Compliance and Data Protection and Compliance Lawyer in ensuring that the firm’s compliance policies and procedures are consistently implemented across the firmLiaise with partners and fee earners to ensure that required compliance procedures, including the completion of regular supervision meeting forms and file audit forms are undertaken; maintain central records; review for non-compliances; conduct periodic trend analysis and prepare monthly and quarterly management reports.Actively monitor key risk areas including limitation and other key dates on client matters.Maintain and monitor compliance and data protection registers as required including undertakings, complaints, confidentiality agreements, data protection and incidents and requests, compliance issues and supervision monitoring.Conduct analysis of information, reports and registers and prepare management reports as requested.Assist with the preparation and organisation of the annual Lexcel audit and the delivery of post-audit feedback.Monitor compliance by fee earners with file closure requirementsUndertake internal compliance audits as requiredWork closely with the Leader of Compliance and Data Protection, Compliance Lawyer, the Projects department and other areas of the business to deliver risk and compliance and data protection projects.Respond to ad-hoc queries into Compliance and/or escalate these promptly to the Leader of Compliance and Data Protection, COLP or Compliance Lawyer as appropriate.Undertake administrative tasks, research and provide support and assistance when required to other members of the Compliance department.Skills and ExperienceA genuine commitment to a career in legal compliance; previous experience in a similar role is desirable.A good understanding of the SRA Standards & Regulations and Codes of ConductAn understanding of the data protection regime in the UK (UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018) and best industry practice in data protection compliance.Strong administrative skills and interest in using business technology to improve business processes.Excellent written skills, report writing and compiling data analysis.Someone who uses their initiative and has great attention to detail.A team player who shares information and ideas.This is an ideal role for someone at the early stages of their risk and compliance career in a law firm or who wishes to take a step up and join a lovely team where you will be well supported and developed.Salary between £33,000 and £37,000.
