Walsall Energy Action Project - Community Energy Project Officer - Ref: EE09523
Salary: G8 £34,834 - £39,186 per annum.
This is a fixed term post for a three year funded project due to end in April 2027.
The National Lottery Community Fund has awarded £1.5m to help local organisations in Walsall support residents and communities to act on high energy bills and the climate crisis.
The Walsall Energy Action Project is a partnership project between Ryecroft NRC, Aaina Community Hub Ltd, Brownhills Community Association, Darlaston All Active, Nash Dom CIC, Walsall Working for Change CIC and Walsall Council.
Walsall Council is seeking an experienced project officer to join our team as a Community Energy Project Officer to manage this project.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with colleagues across the Council and local Voluntary and Community Organisations (VCOs) to deliver the Walsall Energy Action Project (WEAP), to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from residential buildings and reduce fuel poverty.
Lead the implementation of the Walsall Energy Action Project
Monitor the submission of claims and reporting on spend in line with our external funder’s requirements.
Monitor and report on performance of project partners against project targets.
Promote behaviour change initiatives, for example encouraging active travel and smart energy use.
Assist in the development of an Energy & Climate Partnership for Walsall, plus relevant associated strategies, and plans.
