A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a proactive and motivated Dietitian to lead part of the Cardiff and Vale Chronic Conditions Management community dietetic service. The role of the dietetic team lead will be to act as an operational manager for the Chronic Conditions Management team, and the day to day line management of a team of specialist community dietitians. This role will be the dietetic clinical lead for type 2 diabetes, and will need knowledge and experience of the management of type 2 diabetes. The successful applicant will need to have a good knowledge of community services. Excellent leadership and organisational skills will be essential to meet the demands of this role. The post holder will be required to provide support across the geographical area of Cardiff and Vale.Main duties of the jobYou will be responsible for the efficient delivery of type 2 diabetes and weight management services, ensuring effective patient centred service delivery within the financial and workforce resource. You will have a clinical caseload of community clinics, group education and home visits for the specialist area of type 2 diabetes. You will be the team lead for a team of dietitians and support worker staff. The post is funded full time, but part-time applications will be considered. You will work within a friendly and highly skilled department and have opportunities for professional and personal development. You will be actively involved in the research, audit and the Quality and Safety agenda of the department and Cardiff and Vale UHB. The service is a major provider of pre-registration dietetic education and the successful candidate will be involved in the delivery of training and education.
