Copello are pleased to be partnered with a major manufacturing organisation within aviation sector recruiting for a Communications Systems Engineer to join their team nearby to Peterborough.

The Systems Engineer will �be responsible for the design and development of communication systems whilst providing support to bids and programme teams.

Acting as the systems engineering SME and understanding the functionality of customer systems including how and why the systems was designed and the implications of any changes including risks both internally and externally.

Day to day responsibilities will include;

• System design and documentation for both proposals/ bid work and delivery


• Review and authorise system assembly documentation


• Review System Test Reports and recommend corrections if required


• Manage all project system documentation ensuring it is updated on Sharepoint for approval


• Take ownership of estimation of costs associated with engineering activities and materials for quotations


• Develop and maintain close regular supplier and customer relationships being the prime point of contact


• Provide technical advice to customers and across internal teams

This position will be based on site nearby to Peterborough. Hybrid working is on offer, however applicants must be willing to go on site at least 3 days per week or as required.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of VHF and UHF communications, navigations and surveillance systems as well as a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant technical subject. Demonstrable experience in a similar position including system design (including turnkey system design) and some commercial and budget awareness is key for the successful Engineer.
