Communications Specialist | Fife | �45,000+ per year (DOE) | 12-Month Contract
About the Company:
Our client is seeking a talented Communications Consultant to join their Public & Government Affairs department. Reporting to the External Affairs Manager (UK Manufacturing), this role is pivotal in crafting and executing external communications strategies for their industrial site in Fife.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Community Engagement: Oversee the long-standing community contributions program, collaborating with local charities, Community Councils, and Groups to identify funding opportunities.
  • Program Administration: Manage the administrative tasks associated with the contributions program.
  • STEM Education Promotion: Work with colleagues to promote STEM education activities in local schools.
  • Proactive Communication: Develop and deliver proactive communications to enhance understanding of company operations.
  • Digital Presence: Enhance the company's social media and web presence with engaging and informative content.
  • Compelling Copywriting: Write compelling copy for various digital and print channels.
  • Campaign Development: Create short-term campaigns to support key initiatives such as recruitment.
  • Media Liaison: Work with the media team to identify local communication opportunities and assist in the development of relevant news releases.
  • Content Creation: Coordinate the creation of photographic and video content.
  • Issue Monitoring: Engage with internal teams and monitor external activity to identify and address potential emerging issues.
  • Community Response: Handle community enquiries and complaints effectively.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (3-5 years) in communications and engagement, with a track record of successful community involvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with community representatives, schools, and charities.
  • Exceptional writing skills with experience in story identification and development.
  • Strong ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in digital communications, including web and social media management.
  • Experience with web content management systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
