Annual Salary: £24,000 - £26,000Location: ToddingtonJob Type: Full-time My client are looking for a Press and Communications Officer to join theirdynamic marketing team. This role is crucial in shaping thecompany’s image, reputation, and public perception. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing press opportunities,
handling enquiries, and supporting media engagement programs. Day to Day of the Role:
Serve as the first point of contact for incoming calls and emails, managing the corporate response to press and public enquiries.Handle crisis PR events, conducting initial investigations and preparing media response statements.Support media engagement programs, fostering good relations with journalists and arranging for spokespeople to speak to the media.Coordinate and manage events such as new product launches and press events.Devise and produce proactive PR campaigns in collaboration with the marketing team.Monitor media coverage and prepare regular evaluation reports using monitoring software.Support research and data analysis, commissioning market research and analyzing data to extract relevant media stories. Required Skills & Qualifications:
Excellent written and spoken English with a flair for producing engaging content.Strong interpersonal skills and an approachable, friendly, and empathetic demeanor.Excellent telephone manner with the confidence to communicate effectively.Ability to work to tight deadlines and maintain high-quality work.Resilience in handling pushback and tricky questions from journalists.Awareness of different media audiences and sensitivity in addressing them.Consistent interest in news and current affairs.Great organisational skills.1-2 years of relevant experience in PR/media, ideally in a busy press office.Experience in event coordination is desirable.PRCA, CIPR, or CIM qualifications are welcomed but not essential.A degree in PR, marketing, journalism, or English is welcomed but not essential.
