We are seeking an enthusiastic Communications & Brand Manager to join one of the UK’s most exciting independent publishing businesses.
In this role, you would be part of a dedicated team in helping to successfully deliver ambitious growth plans. You report to the Sales and Marketing Director and work across divisions to produce creative and consistently branded external and internal communications. The successful candidate will be a confident communicator, with a keen eye for impactful design and strong commercial acumen.
Key responsibilities:
Group communications:
Create and manage brand development(s)
Create and deliver external Group communications
Create and deliver a monthly internal company newsletter
Ensure the website clearly and concisely communicates the company (and its divisions’) goals, identities and values
Apply rigour and appropriate guidelines for logo use, standardising the presentation of each of the lists in an appealing, adaptable and enticing manner
Optimise all corporate communication opportunities, for example in iterated messaging and author promotion in company email signatures
Create templates for all key internal presentation documents (for example, helping the Sales, Marketing & Publicity team to report on company updates/achievements)
Manage any corporate branding, merch, company communications such as business cards, comp slips, headed papers etc
Oversee corporate photoshoots and related corporate visuals
Create and coordinate Group and imprint trade awards submissions
Coordinate and submit the calendar of literary prize submissions
Trade Communications:
Manage overall retailer sell-in pitch deck, empowering colleagues with the slides, bullet points, visuals, comparisons, campaign elements, and punchy one-line pitches they need to give the best chance of securing support
Creation of reactive marketing communications, i.e. if film/TV adaptation is announced, a major positive review received, if sales milestones are reached, present that with confidence
Manage the creation of and design of all cross-divisional sell-in materials, including twice-yearly Group catalogues and key order forms
Assist, as needed, with layout templates for author pitches, launch meeting slides
Develop key customer and partner communications, in the UK and internationally, delivering high quality branded content, including corporate videos, publisher-level trailers, or where sales conference contributions require staging and coordination
Oversee direct customer communications and service
Help to deliver new title information according to the critical path across the company, and develop effective workarounds where required
Optimise company branding, messaging, and house styles on key platforms including Edelweiss
Copy write and manage the Bookseller Seasonal Buyer’s Guide/Monthly submissions and other themed guides to showcase the list to the trade press
Lead the design implementation to achieve maximum visual impact with space at fairs and conferences
