The team is highly motivated and supportive which means together we are able to deal effectively with situations that are sometimes challenging”.About the roleThis post sit within the Council’s Integrated Commissioning Service and report directly the Specialist Commissioning Manager for Housing, Equipment and Technology.As a Commissioning Manager, you will be at the forefront of delivering complex pieces of work. Your focus will be on working with provider organisations to support quality, innovation, improvement and efficiency. You will need to liaise with senior members of staff in provider organisations up to CEO level and be confident in discussing performance with them. You will need to articulate your findings through clear, concise, and timely reporting that will be shared with senior managers. You will also manage other contractual arrangements and contribute to complex planning around future arrangements for commissioned services.Whilst this role does not have any direct line management responsibilities, you may need to oversee staff using a matrix management approach. As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements. About youWe are looking for someone who is committed to making a difference and will enjoy working in a fast-paced, but friendly environment. We need someone who can hit the ground running. You must:Have a strong track record in contract management within the health and social care sector and / or experience of working in a community equipment or similar serviceHave a strong background of service or performance improvementBe self-motivated and able to work independently but also able to work collaboratively across health and social care stakeholdersBe able to present information clearly – both verbally and in writing, and be confident presenting to senior colleaguesShow professional curiosity, ask questions and appropriately challenge rather than accepting the status quoBe able to think creatively about new solutions and approaches but also be able to make clear and SMART plans to implement these solutionsBe someone who ‘gets things done’ and who is also able to influence others to implement required changes and actionsBe confident working with large volumes of complex data.
