Commissioning Engineer / Commissioning Technician
Location : Scotland, United Kingdom
Rates : Negotiable / Market Leading
Start date : ASAP (May 2024)
2 – 8 month duration
Rotation : 12 days on, 2 days off. 10 days on, 4 days off. Flexibility required.

Turner Lovell are recruiting experienced Commissioning Engineers & Commissioning Technicians to work on onshore HV substations and offshore platform projects (onshore & offshore). Ideally people with excellent working knowledge & track records of commissioning large energy transmission equipment an protection systems on projects (132kV, 275kV & 400kV substation ) throughout the UK, and Europe.
This is an excellent opportunity to be at the forefront of renewable energy infrastructure projects, secure stability on a long-term projects and work with a world class, international team to deliver complex engineering and construction solutions.
The commissioning of complex protection and control schemes including the following: LV, MV Commissioning, Siprotec, Feeders, Isolators, Fault Throwers, CTs, VTs, Differential Relays, Distance Relays, Overcurrent Relays, Earth Fault Relays, Inter-Tripping Scheme, Delayed Auto-Reclose.
Duties:
To commission components, solutions and systems on large energy projects as a Commissioning Engineer/Technician
Ensure all commissioning planning, reporting and documenting activities are completed to time, cost and quality as part of the team
Have the ability to analyse the interaction of single elements and system behaviours
To perform / support test engineering duties (admittances, routine, and type tests – including determination & specification support)
To uphold a strong knowledge of industry and regulatory standards (e.g. IEC standards) to site team, management and client
Requirements:
Electrical Engineering degree, or equivalent (Wiring Regs/chartered engineering status preferable)
3+ years of experience as a Commissioning Engineer on UK or EU energy projects
(GWO tickets to work offshore)
Tickets needed: CCNSG / Safety Passport, First-aid (3-day), Manual Handling, CSCS Card
Strong engineering knowledge & understanding – engineering mathematics, engineering drawings, etc.
Ability to analyse, plan and resolve problems with confidence and a know-how attitude
To have worked productively & efficiently to strict project timescales and schedules.
