Commercial Underwriter

Superb opportunity now available for any Junior/mid-level Commercial Underwriters with 1-3 years experience, who are looking for a new role in an exciting new MGA.

 

We’re working with a Lloyds Broker based near Aldgate who are launching their own specialty MGA in April.  They have set rates, wordings etc from their insurance carriers - and now need someone who can help with the actual underwriting (by following the rates). Classes of business to be written are liability (UK and Canada) and some property too.

They are keen to speak to those already working in an MGA, who understand the way an MGA works and trades, but will also consider someone working for an insurer. They are also keen to speak to people who possess a sales focused mind, and who love to push and develop trade with brokers.

You will be responsible for working with a panel of brokers, and providing them with professional support for new business, renewals, mid-terms adjustments, cancellations, and general enquiries, where you will be handling liability (UK and Canada) and Property business.

As above you will need to have at least 1-3 years experience gained in an MGA/Underwriting Agency or Insurer environment and have dealt with Liabilities and Property covers.

You will also need to possess an entrepreneurial spirit, being able to develop and drive business relationships with your brokers.

In return, the salary on offer is £35-50k, plus annual bonus, with other company benefits such as Private Healthcare and Private Dental care plans.

Office hours are Monday to Friday 9am-5:30pm, with Fridays being able to be worked from home.
