Andy File Associates are excited to be advertising this role of Commercial Property�Surveyor on behalf of our client based�in Halifax, West Yorkshire. The successful candidate will be remunerated with a salary dependent upon qualifications and experience�as well as receiving car allowance or business mileage reimbursement, private medical cover, a phone, RICS fees and a pension, plus a pool car. The offices are conveniently located in the town centre, with close access to the train station.



Our client is�seeking to recruit a Chartered Surveyor to join their management team on a full time permanent basis. They will also consider candidates who are newly qualified and have relevant professional experience with the passion and drive to succeed in this role.



The role offers a wide variety of professional work from day to day tenant management to working as part of a multidisciplinary professional team on commercial agency, lettings and development. The sheer variety of work will be both challenging and rewarding giving the discerning surveyor an opportunity to lead and contribute�to the effective running of their�clients diverse portfolio of commercial and residential properties based in the North of England.



Who are we ideally looking for




  • Property management: You will have the technical expertise, knowledge and experience in asset and estate management; including landlord and tenant relationships, managing service charge budgets and skills to instruct and manage a variety of contracts and contractors.

  • Professional Work: You will have the ability to value property both for rent review and renewal purposes and be able to assess capital value.

  • Agency: You will be a good communicator able to engage with and secure occupiers for a variety of commercial premises. You will have relevant experience in negotiating and agreed lease terms, working with legals, completing CPSE enquiries and managing the handover process.

  • H&S: A general understanding of property related Health & Safety legislation will allow you to take the lead in managing our obligations as part of the management team.

  • Development/Construction: You will be involved as part of a multidisciplinary professional team overseeing and adding value to our construction and refurbishment programs.

  • Investment: Formulate investment strategy with the team, build relationships with investment agents and report to our client team on opportunities as and when they arise.



Required Skills & Qualifications




  • Experience with Private and Public Sector clients.

  • BSc in Real Estate (or equivalent).

  • Ideally MRICS or similar accreditation (or working towards).

  • 1+ years working in a professional consultancy environment.

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other role-related software packages. Where specialist software is used IT skills can be learnt on the job and training can be provided.

  • Ability to form effective working relationships with colleagues and clients.

  • Confident, outgoing, with the drive to succeed and develop your role within the office.

As well as technical competence, we are looking for someone with the ability to think laterally, who possesses first class communication skills, has strong commercial awareness, and will provide an excellent service to our client and contribute to building an effective team.
