Then please, read on…So, what does the role of a Commercial Underwriter here involve?As a Commercial Underwriter you will be underwriting a range of commercial, property and general liability risks under a variety of delegated binding authorities, seeking open market quotations where needed.This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities. Develop and maintain a profitable book of businessWork with a panel of brokers in developing and underwriting profitable, target business in line with underwriting strategies and business plans across a range of Commercial Products including Combined Liability (contracting and non-contracting) and Commercial Combined.Provide support to Underwriters and junior members including referralsResponsible for monitoring and reporting of management informationCreate and maintain relationships with brokers, insurers and other business partnersProvide support to department manager and assist as may be required with day to day operationsWhat experience does a Commercial Underwriter need?Proven underwriting experience of Commercial Products including Commercial Combined and Combined Liability (contracting and non-contracting) and a good understanding of risk.Experience of working within an MGA environment and an understanding of the use of binding authority guidelines and authorities would be advantageousA working knowledge of legal and regulatory Insurance frameworkIT Skills: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point.
