I am currently working with thriving drylining company in South Yorkshire that's expanding! To fuel this exciting chapter, we're seeking a high-caliber Commercial Manager to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a results-oriented professional to lead a team, manage client relationships, and play a pivotal role in our continued success within the drylining sector.
As our Commercial Manager, you will:
- Lead a team of 4 Surveyors, providing guidance, training, and ensuring efficient delivery of drylining projects.
- Be the main point of contact for clients, building strong relationships, managing expectations, and exceeding their needs in the drylining and plastering sector.
- Develop and implement effective commercial strategies specifically tailored to the drylining industry, maximizing profitability and ensuring project success.
- Undertake all aspects of drylining quantity surveying, including cost planning, tender preparation and packaging, and sub-contractor negotiations. (Here we can acknowledge the drylining expertise)
- Review and manage JCT contracts, ensuring compliance and mitigating risk, with a particular focus on drylining and plastering specific clauses.
- Prepare and present compelling proposals and reports to secure new business opportunities, highlighting our expertise in drylining solutions.
- Contribute to the development of the company's sales and marketing strategy, with an emphasis on promoting our drylining services.
- Monitor and analyze project performance, identifying cost-saving opportunities and areas for improvement within the drylining scope of work.
To excel in this Commercial Manager role, you will possess:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a commercial role within the construction industry, with a strong understanding of drylining projects is a plus.
- Proven track record of success in cost planning, tendering, and contract administration specific to construction projects.
- Strong understanding of JCT contracts and construction best practices, particularly regarding drylining and plastering works.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues in the construction sector.
- Experience in leading and motivating a team.
- A confident and professional demeanor with excellent negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software packages (e.g., estimating software, MS Office suite).
- A valid driving license.
