Summary: We are seeking a Commercial Manager who will manage the tender process and commercial delivery on multiple projects whilst developing and maintaining excellent client relationships.
Essential Responsibilities: The Commercial Manager will:
Manage the tender process
Responsible for the bid writing, including quality submissions
Compiling tender responses and carrying out initial tender analysis
Quantification and costing of tender bids and submitting
Strategically expanding, preserving, or improving procedures and standards
Negotiation of contract terms
Assessing and managing risk of contracts
Develop excellent client relationships
Assist clients in value engineering when necessary
Submit timely valuations and measure chargeable variations
Manage subcontractor and supplier relationships
Offering financial direction and instruction to the team ensuring they understand key aspects of the contract
Overseeing financial key performance indicators (KPIs) of a project
Ensuring that all stakeholders understand and adhere to contractual obligations
Ensuring that the financial aspects and impact of a contract are clear to all parties
Managing the commercial delivery of several projects
Key Skills / Experience Required for the Commercial Manager:
Honours degree in quantity surveying/construction management
CIOB/RICS or the desire to work towards obtaining an accreditation
Experience in compiling tender bids, including quality submissions
Procurement experience including subcontract and materials and cost reconciliation
Strong understanding of JCT contracts and contractual obligations
Exemplary communication skills
Strong ability to liaise with supply chain and clients
Strong analytical skills
