Commercial/Operations Business Unit Manager
Annual Salary: £60k - £75k depending on experienceLocation: MidlandsJob Type: Full-time This is a very exciting opportunity for a Commercial Operations Distribution Manager to play an instrumental role in the setup and growth of the new UK operations side of this niche European company with a turnover of over £22 million. This new site will
be their first UK Operation for distribution to clients in the UK. This position is ideal for a candidate with a background in running a distribution business. You would also need experience or exposure to warehouse operations operational management responsibility
including overseeing financials, setting up warehouse processes, logistics, managing stock and deliveries, and recruiting the first warehouse staff and eventually be more involved with dealing with clients and generate new business from the UK contacts they
have. Responsibilities will include:
Daily management and coordination of (commercial) activities in the UKDeciding in collaboration on a suitable location for the distribution centre (DC)Setting up a stock/purchasing/logistics process in collaboration between the Netherlands, the UK and foreign suppliersCollaboratively setting up all preconditions required to be operational (services and materials)Drawing up a commercial development plan for the UK BU in line with the Dutch development strategyDrawing up an operational development plan in line with the commercial development planAcquire and manage new business.Managing and developing optimal customer relationships and customer experienceImplementing a pricing strategy in the UKManage resources and ensure responsible spendingWilling to travel to the Netherlands at least twice a yearPart of the training program is a 2x2 week visit to the Netherlands Required Skills & Qualifications:
A background in operational management within a distribution company and have had exposure to warehouse operations and Business DevelopmentConfidence in client contact and relationship building to create new businessAbility to manage a business unit effectively.No specific product knowledge required; training will be provided.Willingness to travel to the Netherlands for initial training and periodically for business needs.Strong organisational and leadership skills.
