Commercial Manager

We’re looking for an experienced, highly skilled Commercial Manager to be accountable for the creation and maintenance of the commercial pipeline, which is the core to the entire commercial function to guide resource planning, prioritisation, and escalation. The Commercial Manager will act as commercial business partner to collate cross functional input into the pipeline, ensuring timely delivery of pipeline initiatives and escalate as required.What will you be doing?Responsible for the ongoing development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Commercial Pipeline, interlocked with the wider business planning process, to ensure the timely development of commercial strategies for the 250+ activities listed and a £5bn contract portfolio.Responsible for the regular pipeline reporting to both internal and external stakeholders, including the weekly/monthly OpCo and Exco reports, quarterly reports to regulatory bodies and other ad hoc report to other business functions.Act as commercial partners with key stakeholders, including senior executives, regulatory bodies, and external partners in relation to the Commercial Pipeline, to ensure alignment of key activities, priorities and raise awareness of any issues or risks as they ariseFacilitate cross-functional teams to identify, plan and input critical business information onto the Commercial Pipeline which enables the business to make key decisions in a timely manner whilst ensuring value for money is evidenced in everything we do.Responsible for the notification and escalation of critical business milestones and deadlines, such as contract expiration and board paper deadlines, to the relevant ExCo member to ensure timely decision making and promote optimal business outcomes.Lead and facilitate all continuous improvement initiatives regarding the commercial pipeline process, artefacts and tools along with the Senior Commercial Manager and the wider DCC business functionsWhat are we looking for?Experience in commercial process and understand interferences across the business units, including procurement, contract management, strategic supply management and planningStrong collaboration skills to enable the collation of key information from multiple sources across different levels of seniorityAbility to build a succinct story from multiple inputs that is easy to understand an allows key decisions to be madeTrack record of engaging with other functions to identify how we can drive more value for our customersStrong attention to details and proven ability to work in an open / auditable way fitting to a regulated environmentExtensive written and verbal communication.
