Role in a nutshell:

A great opportunity for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a growing specialist tour operator. Responsible for maximising margin through reviewing and analysing data and trends and monitoring market competition. This role will be assessing sales, driving recommendations for offers across the multiple brands in the group. The ability to present data and interact with other key stakeholders and departments and making suggestions for improvements, is critical.

Key Responsibilities:

Commercial Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive commercial strategies to maximise revenue and profitability across all business channels.

Partnership Management: Cultivate and manage strategic partnerships with travel agencies, tour operators, and other key stakeholders to enhance sales and distribution networks.

Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.

Product Development: Collaborate with product development teams to innovate and enhance cruise offerings, ensuring alignment with market demand and customer preferences.

Contract Negotiation: Negotiate favourable contracts with suppliers, vendors, and partners to optimise cost efficiencies and enhance competitive advantage.

Revenue Optimisation: Drive revenue optimisation initiatives through pricing strategies, promotional campaigns, and upselling opportunities.

Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a team of commercial professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Reporting: Use BI tools to support analysis of sales/yield/discount and margin reporting across all business functions required for weekly & monthly meetings. As well as support Partnerships, Groups and Charters in identification of sailings with occupancy that closest meets their needs.

Requirements:

  • Ideal candidate will have revenue management, forecasting and modelling experience within the travel/hospitality industry.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, interpersonal, and relationship building skills.
  • Fundamental understanding of pricing structures and techniques
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and articulate ideas to drive decision based on analytics.
  • Ability to prioritise work and ensure accuracy while meeting rigid deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in a quantitative field
  • Passion for the travel industry and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
