We are recruiting a Commercial Manager position for one of our clients - a distributor and manufacturer of Building Materials / Construction Supplies within the Building Envelope arena.

As a Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all commercial activities within the organization. This is a key leadership role that requires strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive business growth.

This role would be well suited to an existing Commercial Manager or perhaps a Regional Sales Manager, General Manager, Category Manager, Procurement Manager, Marketing Manager, Finance or Regional Manager.

Overseeing all commercial activity for a circa �50m, multi-site business with headcount of nearly 200. Within this role you will be involved with strategic alongside the Commercial Director and heavily involved in the implementation of the commercial strategy.

You will be involved in all aspects of the business from maximising supplier rebates and the supplier relationships, looking at various data and have a say in marketing, IT, procurement, overheads, pricing and pricing behaviours.

This is critical role for our client - a well respected supplier of building materials into the construction sector, with products associated with building envelope, facades, rain screen, glazing, cladding. We therefore need a senior individual from the construction supplies / building materials / builders merchants sector (civils merchants, builders merchants, distributors or manufacturers, building envelope, facades, rain screen, cladding etc). Someone who understands a multi-site business would also be helpful.

A commercially astute individual with an excellent reputation. A strong negotiator who is willing to roll up their sleeves. This is not a corporate environment. We need a free-thinking, entrepeneurial doer!!

A CIPPS qualification would be beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Involved in project meetings, presenting Commercial strategy.
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies
  • Supplier review and KPI assessment
  • Analyse rebate
  • Expenditure analysis
  • Procurement negotiations
  • Lead new product development process (in due course)
  • Drive commerciality and reduction in cost reduction
  • Ensuring delivery and customer (and supplier) satisfaction
  • Provide support to the Group Commercial Director as required.
  • Deputise for the Group Commercial Director in meetings as required.
  • First point of contact for any procurement and commercial related queries.
  • Any other duties as reasonably required.
