responsible for the financial management of one of our largest contracts.In addition to your day-to-day responsibilities, you will establish and embed best practice processes across the business area, championing and driving a continuous improvement culture. This is a hybrid role based 3 days per week in our Derby office, with the remainder spent working from home if preferred. What will your day look like… Designing and implementing appropriate controls to ensure the accurate processing of commercial data and the translation into the profit & loss account
Reviewing and streamlining processes to ensure that activities are carried out efficiently, compliantly and within the parameters of both contractually agreed client and internal timelines
Demonstrating accountability for ensuring that contractual mechanisms and terms are being complied with, working closely with the commercial and operational leads on the contract
Maintaining a document repository of contractual paperwork (e.g. work orders and variation orders) to substantiate transactions with both the client and supply chain
Ensuring applications made to the client are fully substantiated, accurate and in accordance with the client/contractual calendar – owning the revenue to cash conversion
Delivering project by project reporting, understanding and communicating the financial performance of each compared with expected delivery
Maintaining a reconciliation of cash received by the client and liabilities outstanding on sub-contractor accounts and reflecting accurately in the accounting records with correct allocation by job
Ensuring a close working relationship is established and maintained with the operational and commercial team and that there is collaboration in resolving issues About you…
This role is perfect for someone who has
worked in accounting roles at various levels in a fast-paced environment.
Qualified in CIMA / ACCA / ACA, you will have an impressive track record of delivering process improvement. You will preferably have good knowledge of Project Accountingwith experience of outsourced project-based industries, or construction.
The role requires good knowledge of accounting practices, statutory regulations and reporting requirements. Strong IT skills including knowledge of ERP systems and excellent Excel skills, you will use your commercial acumen to deliver successful outcomes. You will communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels and your fantastic leadership skills will reflect in your ability to develop teams and individuals, both direct and indirect reports.
