We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Finance team. Given the fast-paced nature and variety of the Finance department, there will never be a dull moment in the role.As a Commercial Finance Manager – Gross Margin in our Finance Department, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the company's financial objectives and driving business growth. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will provide strategic financial guidance, insightful analysis, and actionable recommendations to senior management.Responsibilities:Gross Margin AnalysisLead the analysis of gross margin performance by product category, SKU, and sales channel. Identify factors impacting gross margin, including pricing, cost of goods sold, promotions, and markdowns. Provide actionable recommendations to optimise gross margin and mitigate margin erosion risks.Pricing StrategyPartner with Merchandising, Ecommerce, and Marketing teams to develop and implement pricing strategies that balance profitability with market competitiveness. Conduct pricing elasticity analysis, competitive benchmarking, and promotional impact assessments to inform pricing decisions.Product Assortment OptimizationCollaborate with Merchandising and Product Development teams to optimise product assortment and mix based on gross margin objectives, customer demand, and market trends. Evaluate the profitability of new product launches and assortments to maximize gross margin contribution.Cost ManagementWork closely with Production teams to manage product costs and optimise sourcing strategies. Evaluate vendor negotiations, production efficiencies, and supply chain optimisation initiatives to reduce costs and improve gross margin.Promotions and Markdown ManagementEvaluate the financial impact of promotional activities, discounts, and markdowns on gross margin. Develop strategies to minimize margin dilution while effectively managing inventory levels and driving sales.Lead the development of gross margin forecasts, budgets, and targets in collaboration with the wider team.
