Job Title: Commercial/Contracts Manager/Senior QS
Location: Flexible (with 3 days per week on-site at Culham, Oxfordshire)

Purpose and Need: Join the prestigious H3AT Project at UKAEA as a Commercial/Contracts Manager/Senior QS. We are seeking experienced professionals with expert commercial management skills to play a vital role in advancing fusion energy technology. Candidates with a background in construction projects or civil engineering, coupled with extensive experience in commercial management roles, are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead commercial management aspects of the H3AT Project, overseeing contract administration with contractors and sub-contractors.
* Manage valuations, payment notices, variations, and document control systems, ensuring compliance with contract forms, including the NEC suite.
* Conduct on-site materials checks, cost control, and reporting, including CVR and P & L analysis.
* Facilitate procurement processes for contractors and sub-contractors, from pre-qualifications to tender reviews and contractual negotiations.
* Liaise with multiple stakeholders and draft correspondence of a contractual nature, while also managing claims and dispute resolution at the site level.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Ideally a chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) or someone working towards this qualification, with at least 10 years of relevant experience in commercial management roles on construction and/or engineering projects.
* Alternatively, consideration will be given to candidates with a PQS/Client background, provided they have extensive experience in contract administration on multiple complex construction and/or engineering sites.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
* Strong project management skills are desirable but not essential.
Other Details:
* Full-time position with flexibility in location.
* Expected to work on-site at Culham, Oxfordshire for 3 days per week, with potential travel to other sites as part of the role.
* Possession of a CSCS card would be advantageous.
