Salary: up to £75,000 per annum
Role Type: Permanent, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Ancala Water Services is a private utilities company providing clean and wastewater services to over 1,000 Ministry of Defence establishments across England and Wales. Our aim is to revolutionise the operation of the water services industry and we need top talent to help us achieve this.

The Commercial Contract and Legal Manager is a crucial role for Ancala Water Services and is responsible for providing not only leadership to the Commercial team but also to support the wider business in the areas of contractual obligations, commercial issues, contractual interpretation and commercial risk management. The post holder will be responsible for the development and implementation of internal commercial policies, processes and procedures, along with influencing our strategic and operational approach to commercial activities. Our ideal candidate will be an experienced Commercial Manager within a similar sector who brings managerial experience, strong commercial acumen and true professionalism in all they do.

Role Responsibilities: Developing and implementing strategies to resolve contractual and commercial issues
Managing a small Commercial team with up to three direct reports
Maintaining integrity of our contracted commercial position and ensuring that the financial aspects and contract impact are clear to all stakeholders
Assessment and mitigation of commercial risk to the business and actions
Responsible for commercial, legal, contractual and non-operational aspects of the head PFI contract
Development, implementation and maintenance of commercial policies, processes, and procedures
Responsible for the maintenance of the Contract Obligations Register
Act as SME by providing commercial support in day-to-day activities and contractual interpretation and guidance
Management of client requested additional works from identification of need through to formal quotation/ proposal
Essential Skill, Knowledge and Experience: Extensive understanding of contract administration and experience within a similar role is essential
Previous line management experience
Ability to identify and manage non-operational contract obligations
Experience of developing and delivering commercial policies and processes
Implementation of contract governance procedures
Excellent knowledge and application of contract law
Outstanding communication skills with the ability to react to changing deadlines with ease
Strong IT skills with the ability to carry out research, analyse results and present them insightfully
Attention to detail with the ability to produce consistent high-quality work within required timescales

A bout you:
Due to the nature of sites on which we operate, the successful candidate must: Meet the security vetting requirements for the role which includes, but is not limited to, the successful candidate being a full-time resident of the UK for the past 5 years and an enhanced DBS Check.
You must have a valid driving licence and be comfortable driving to different sites occasionally and attending off-site customer meetings. There may also be occasional overnight stays.
